We did it. My younger son and I bought the house at 7647 Sherwood in Detroit 48211; it’s THE LAST house in a Renaissance Zone in Detroit (tax abatement until 2017) — we got a lot of info, good will, and good karma from artist Tim Burke of the Heidleburg Project,
and Lisa Jackson of the City of Detroit Real Estate Division — she’s the professional bomb. Not so great were Kim Miller — who tried to scare us with ‘are you gonna be safe there?’ and ‘just let me get the tax bill’– oh wait –there’s no taxes Kim, because it’s city owned!!! I told my older son that it’s like buying Apple stock at $7.00 which we did back in 2000 — now look at it.
