Chicago vs. Detroit

No comparison, obviously. But just thought I’d remind all of you (us) Midwesterners about the pathetic dualism between the two, in terms of history, evolution, progression, infrastructure, and love.  But yet, and yet, there is just something so Goethe-ically ruinous about what is left our fair city, ‘born on’ July 24, 1701. Maybe we should embrace our ruins, even though they are the result of hate-decay: that strongly violent, acidic force that is at the core of why we fight, why we burn, why we tag and smash and break.
